Environmental Research and Design, Inc. (ERD) was founded in 1986 as a water quality research and engineering firm by Dr. Harvey H. Harper, P.E. Work efforts at ERD are devoted primarily to the areas of surface water and groundwater management, stormwater treatment, lake restoration and sediment/water interaction. This specialization has allowed ERD to develop complete field, laboratory, computer and engineering related resources in these areas.

We maintain one of the most complete inventories of sampling and monitoring equipment for surface water, stormwater, groundwater, rainfall and sediments of any engineering firm in the Southeast. ERD also has shop facilities for fabrication of specialized equipment to meet unique applications.

We operate an in-house research grade water quality laboratory covered by an approved FDEP COMPQAP (No. 870322) and certified by Florida HRS (No. E93351). Equipment is available for water quality analyses, algal bioassays, toxicity testing, jar testing, coagulation experiments, and sediment incubation.
